*Fear is an extraordinary emotion we all have and the depths of our fear go deeper than the darkest blues in the ocean. What strikes terror into everyone's hearts differ from person to person and then their dread falls on upon a spectrum. Is it the feeling of bugs crawling across your skin? Your teeth falling out of your mouth and down the back of your throat? Or is it what stalks in the night?
Incredibly common, Nyctophobia, is an extreme and intense fear of darkness, and the unknown hiding in it. More common in children than anything but can sometimes creep up on adults as well... Fear generates the most delectable of emotions, terror, sadness, anger, all of it can come from fear... and unfortunately fear feeds what hides in the black-veiled night.

The world of Askye has always harbored both negative and positive energies deep in its roots. Arcane magic controls the flow of the world, and tipping the scale in favour of one energy or their other disrupts the nature of the world. No place can be truly evil or truly peaceful, chaos and goodness hides in the folds and cracks of its surroundings. Unfortunately, other beings enjoy the disorder and instead create whatever discord they can to upset the balance. But sometimes unexplained events happen in our world that throw chaos and disharmony into something already unbalanced.*
