As tensions escalate and old prejudices resurface, political factions maneuver for power while underground movements advocate for change. Where secrets are weapons and trust is a luxury, the fate of both humans and fae rests in the hands of those willing to defy the boundaries that divide them.

2005, 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘺, 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘺𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥
It started with a blinding 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡- Then a tremor, that grew into a quake. The stillness of the night was broken by a deafening blast, then before silence could settle over the city, blaring sirens, commanding shouts, and panicked screams echoed through the streets.

The fabric of reality itself seemed to be bursting at the seams, fractures in natural law growing wider by the minute- For some, gravity momentarily ceased to be, for others- The skies lit up... Yet, most could recall the very same dream, flashing before their mind's eye- A glimpse of a world beyond the veil, incomprehensible and incomparable to anything else.
But the mass hallucination was to end up as 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔...

Within two years of the 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡, almost the entire Delmarva Peninsula had been isolated, due to the perils propagating within. Those that evacuated- They were not to return. Those that did not wish to leave, or weren't given a chance to do so- They would stay within the PEZ, with no hope of escape, forever changed, some given a chance to keep their humanity, 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙮.

To this day, it's unclear, what exactly happened- The secrecy surrounding the gradual expansion of the PEZ, the incoherent eyewitness accounts of unnatural events, of a foreign world, just beyond the walls, awe-inspiring, and terrifying at the same time.
