Join the Underworld...

At first glance, the town of Umbra is just like any other small town. The lively shops, historic buildings, and placid lake make it a picture-perfect home. But when you look a little closer, the eclectic nature of the town becomes a little stranger. What truly sets the town apart, though, is something that everyone who lives there shares in common.

**They’re all dead.**

Established a few years into the Common Era by a peculiar figure named Rhodopis, the town is an ever-growing patchwork. On occasion, the draw of the town is so powerful that even sections of other afterlives come crashing in, bringing with them people from across time.

For the most part, though, everyone seems to arrive in the same way. The train arrives daily, always at the same time, noon on the dot. Its passengers are the newly deceased, drawn in to this strange corner of the afterlife. Once they disembark, the train remains at the station until midnight, steaming away into the mist, just to return the next day like clockwork.

No one has ever been able to return to the land of the living aboard the train. And though Umbra is more than willing to let its people leave, those who pass through the mists surrounding the town always end up right back where they started. So the question remains:

Is this truly a peaceful afterlife? Or are there still more secrets to be discovered?

Taking place in the year 2000, Blackwood Academy is followed by a tale of a castle built in the early 1600's during the Salem Witch Trials. The academy was built to protect and teach not only witches and wizards, but vampires, werewolves, and sirens as well. Due to help from humans aligned with these creatures, the castle remained secret for many years. Unfortunately it was found by hunters and mobs, who set the building ablaze. Years later the castle was rediscovered and rebuilt from the ground up, creating a safe haven for those born or gifted with unique traits and abilities once again, and continuing the legacy started by the first headmaster centuries ago. Today parts of the original building still stand, and students from all over the world come to find residence in it's dormitories. Will you be among them?

Hundreds of thousands of years ago...

...Or was it hundreds of thousands of years to come?

In such time, humanity's technological advancement had become comparable to magic. Death was beaten, Sickness was no more, famine, poverty, war. All gone. Even time, humanity had conquered. A powerful artificial intelligence computer, called the Master Mind was engineered. It was tasked first with solving humanity's crisis; space.

The Master Mind came up with a solution. The Masons. Towering, near-godlike machines created for the sole purpose of building. And that they did. They tore from the world, taking rock, stone, and metal alike to construct cities that covered the surface of the entire world. They built, and built more, yet humanity kept growing. Layer upon layer, the cities grew, cities, complexes and sprawling parks, all held together by the glue of the Master Mind, its invisible rays doing mankind's bidding.

The city continued to grow. Converting the planet’s surface into sprawling cityscapes and parks, all the while humanity began to decline… All this is lost to history. A hundred thousand years after the first brick of the Infinite City was placed, humanity lost their control over their creation. Declining further and further, until all they inhabited were a few small islands on the surface of the planet, gateways into the depths…

…Now they are called back down, pulled by some invisible force, all of them. It is your turn to reclaim the depths, and learn of your heritage!
