Hallowood Island is its name, home to its quaint little town, where the mystical and magic born reside and have resided for centuries. They attend Hallowood Academy - a K-12 school where children can learn to hone their magic and study the arcane art they’ve been gifted with by the world.
Life isn’t cushy and comfortable for them, however - the forests that infest the island house creatures of the dark. They are the monsters that roam the land, beings of untold terror, constantly razing the homes and destroying the crops of the citizens of the island. And they are led by the most terrible, most elusive monster there is- the Cursed Witch, a being of untold power that lurks in the depths of the forest.

At first glance, the town of Umbra is just like any other small town. The lively shops, historic buildings, and placid lake make it a picture-perfect home. But when you look a little closer, the eclectic nature of the town becomes a little stranger. What truly sets the town apart, though, is something that everyone who lives there shares in common.

**They’re all dead.**

Established a few years into the Common Era by a peculiar figure named Rhodopis, the town is an ever-growing patchwork. On occasion, the draw of the town is so powerful that even sections of other afterlives come crashing in, bringing with them people from across time.

For the most part, though, everyone seems to arrive in the same way. The train arrives daily, always at the same time, noon on the dot. Its passengers are the newly deceased, drawn in to this strange corner of the afterlife. Once they disembark, the train remains at the station until midnight, steaming away into the mist, just to return the next day like clockwork.

No one has ever been able to return to the land of the living aboard the train. And though Umbra is more than willing to let its people leave, those who pass through the mists surrounding the town always end up right back where they started. So the question remains:

Is this truly a peaceful afterlife? Or are there still more secrets to be discovered?

While on an expedition the scientist Gerald Robotnik discovered the ruins of the ancient echidna tribe on angel island. He learns of chaos energy and the emeralds, seeking to use them to cure his granddaughter's illness he begins work on project chaos. However, his research is deemed too dangerous and Gerald is arrested and later executed while his works are left on the island. 30 years later Dr. Ivo Robotnik launches his invasion and attacks Christmas Island. He is successful and decides to make the island the main base of his new Eggman Empire. Christmas island is renamed to Halloween Island and all locals that did not escape are enslaved or roboticized. The survivors of Eggman's attack escape to South Island and form a resistance group to take back their home. The resistance is led by Sonic the hedgehog, Mighty the armadillo, and Ray the flying squirrel. Sonic the hedgehog manages to make a name for himself thwarting robotniks plans and the resistance gains more members. Eggman isn't one to be defeated so easily though and after his death egg crashes on angel island the genius mad scientist makes a discovery that may be his key to defeating Sonic and the resistance. Happening behind the scenes ripples in reality are opening up with strange things or in some cases strange people falling out of them.
