It was the central point of all technology, all information, and all exchange. It saw the greatest of the universe, the kindness, the altruism, the love, the peace...It also saw the worst. It watched in hopeless broken-heartedness as brother turned against brother, spilling rivers of blood across the cosmos.

It knew, that Nexus, that history was a recursion. That regardless of how many bloodied hands joined in peace, eventually, one would fall, and one would rise.
